MetiPro announces official inauguration of the Sfax Seawater Desalination Plant in Tunisia

As part of Hassan Allam Holding’s expanding water platform, MetiPro is pleased to announce the official inauguration of the Sfax Seawater Desalination Plant in Tunisia, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable infrastructure that addresses critical water challenges across the region.

The inauguration ceremony brought together senior government officials from Tunisia and Japan, alongside representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Société Nationale d’Exploitation et de Distribution des Eaux (SONEDE), highlighting the strength of international collaboration in advancing sustainable water infrastructure.

The consortium successfully delivered the EPC scope of the project and has now commenced the Operation & Maintenance phase. Designed with an expandable production capacity of up to 200,000 m³/day, the facility will provide a resilient and reliable source of drinking water to nearly one million people in the Sfax region. Equipped with advanced desalination technologies and high-efficiency systems, the plant sets a new benchmark for operational excellence, energy efficiency, and sustainable water production.
