Hassan Allam Holding (HAH), a leading construction and engineering group headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, serving regional and global clients in the Middle East and North Africa, announced today that its flagship construction company, Hassan Allam Construction (HAC), was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a water treatment plant in Sixth of October with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters/day.
“We are proud to have been awarded this contract, a testament to the strength of our business model, the diversity of the group’s operations, and our commitment to deliver projects on time and to specification every time,” said Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding. “Improving the quality of life of the communities we do business is part and parcel of our commitment to build out much-needed infrastructure throughout our footprint, including infrastructure that will provide clean water to no less than 1 million people every day.” HAH holds infrastructure at the core of its business model. As such, HAC will cooperate with HAH’s specialized water engineering and construction subsidiaries, Intech and the recently acquired, globally recognized Bioworks, for the project. The synergies inherent in the group’s business model will allow it to offer the client a comprehensive solution for the expansive, complex water treatment plant, which is expected to serve the entire, fast-growing area of Sixth of October. “The contract also underscores our unique position in the market as a leader in the provision of turnkey water solutions,” said Allam. “Hassan Allam Holding and its subsidiaries have invested heavily in developing EPC solutions to serve the water industry, including desalination, wastewater treatment, and water infrastructure and plan to continue expanding into this line of business in the years to come.” Hassan Allam Holding leads the Egyptian and regional EPC market via three business arms: engineering and construction, building materials, and utility development. In May, Hassan Allam acquired a majority stake in European water-treatment leader Bioworks, a key extension to the group’s offering in water and wastewater treatment to extend its leadership in sustainable systems for the water industry across its operational footprint.
