Company History

Hassan Mohamed Allam founded the company in 1936, however his legacy continues to live on in the business today. His unwavering reputation for quality and integrity are values that profoundly shape the way in which we conduct our business operations. Where once we participated in laying the foundations of Egypt’s modern economy, we now place our expertise to build essential infrastructure to sustain the lives of millions of citizens far beyond the borders of Egypt where our story first began.

  • Hassan Allam Construction is founded by Hassan Mohamed Allam. It specializes in good quality infrastructure and heavy civil work across Egypt.

  • The first phase of nationalization by the Egyptian Government claims fifty percent of the business.

  • The second phase of nationalization seizes the remaining shares. The family remains in control with Hassan Mohamed Allam chairing the Board and his three eldest sons (Mohamed Fahmy, Samir and Kamal) as Board Directors.

  • Investment and legislative environments change allowing the private sector to re-emerge in Egypt.

  • The family establishes Hassan Allam Sons and control of the business is passed to Kamal Allam. His younger brothers (Elwy, Salah, Essam, Medhat and Magdy) join the Board and Executive Management Team.

  • National Pipe Company is established to manufacture precast concrete pipes and pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipes.

  • Hassam Allam Steel Fabrication is established to provide specialist engineering services, deliver steel structures, vessels and storage tanks, as well as plate works fabrication and erection works.

  • Various complementary in-house building products are launched as part of our strategy to invest and expand. This enables us to offer more specialised construction services to our clients. It also helps to improve supply chain integration in Egypt and across the MENA region.

  • The IFC becomes an equity partner in Hassan Allam Holding and gains a place on the Board of Directors.
